I started taking the TOEFL because I want to apply for an exchange student program. If I were to choose the best aspect of WheeSchool, it would be the writing revision. When I received essay corrections at a large academy, I mostly received feedback focused on "grammar" rather than my expressions or the flow of my writing. Even if I had good ideas, I couldn't express them properly, which was quite frustrating. However, at WheeSchool, I was able to receive feedback not only on grammar but also on "expressions and the flow of the writing."
I started studying for the TOEFL because I wanted to apply for an exchange student program. I had been attending a large test prep academy since January this year, but I didn't achieve the score I wanted. I had to follow a predetermined curriculum instead of studying according to my own needs, which made it difficult to address my weaknesses. That's when I came across WheeSchool while looking for alternative study methods. WheeSchool offered a personalized curriculum and additional learning resources to overcome my weaknesses, which made me choose it. Moreover, the presence of highly qualified teachers (mentors) who provided feedback made it even more trustworthy.Embarrassingly enough, WheeSchool accurately identified my weaknesses, which greatly helped me practice and improve in those areas. It reduced the effort of searching for practice problems related to my shortcomings. It was impressive to have access to a vast amount of data, unlimited practice materials, and mock exams. I particularly liked the ability to choose questions based on difficulty levels. As someone who lacked confidence initially, practicing with questions of varying difficulty levels allowed me to become familiar with the test format again and build my confidence.Reading text on a computer screen was initially challenging and made it difficult to comprehend. However, practicing in an environment that closely resembled the actual TOEFL test conditions at WheeSchool helped me adapt to reading and answering questions on the monitor. This familiarity helped me stay calm and confident during the real test.If I were to highlight the best aspect of WheeSchool, it would be the essay revision service. When I received essay feedback at the large test prep academy, the focus was mainly on grammar rather than on my expression or the flow of my writing. It was frustrating because I had good ideas but struggled to express them properly. However, at WheeSchool, I received feedback not only on grammar but also on expression and the flow of my writing. Moreover, I could receive the feedback within 24 hours (through mentoring or tutoring in real-time). They didn't completely rewrite my content but provided revisions based on what I had written, making it easier for me to understand. Receiving revision versions allowed me to make it my own by practicing multiple times, and the encouragement from the mentors gave me confidence.I found it much easier to memorize the speaking templates at WheeSchool compared to the ones at the large test prep academy. At the academy, I had to memorize around six templates for different cases, whereas, at WheeSchool, I only had to memorize four. When I practiced using these templates again, I wondered why I had memorized so many before. It felt much more intuitive, and I don't think I will be flustered on the test day because of the templates. Moreover, at the academy, they simply made us memorize without any guidance, but at WheeSchool, they provided simple rhythms to help with memorization. It felt awkward at first, but the more I did it, the more familiar I became with it, and the combination of the rhythm and the template made it easier for me to recall what I had memorized.
